Poll Results regarding Vandalism and old mine buildings in the Crowsnest Pass

Sorry I slipped behind on my poll results:

First question was "Due to a recent out break of vandalism would you support a curfew for kids?"

The results were very mixed with voters feeling the following way:
No 8 votes 32%
Yes for up to 16 year olds 11 votes 44%
Yes for up to 18 year olds 6 votes 24%

I really struggle with this issue and obviously so do the people that take the time to voice there opinions. The majority of kids are good around here, this problem is being caused by a very small minority. At the council level we have asked for the Pincher Creek RCMP to come and talk to us about their experience in Pincher Creek

The second Poll was regarding the old mine building in Coleman:
The question was "What should happen to the old mine buildings in Coleman?"

Demolish them 21votes 75%
Retain a minimal part to maintain the historical value 1 votes 3%
Preserve them if the money is available 3 votes 11%
Preserve them even without funding 3 votes 11%

The people that took the time to vote on this poll make their feelings very clear.

The key questions that keep coming up here are; if we kept the buildings who would fund the cleanup, renovations, start up and ongoing operations? When you say the provincial/federal government, everybody points to the old Greenhill mine.
And anybody that thinks municipal dollars can go in to this place on an ongoing basis is dreaming.

New poll.Do you support a feasability study on a rec centre?I think yes but only if the study happens to show we build it,then we build it.
I think this should be put to the taxpayer. Are you willing to pay x amount of dollars for x amount of years to support the building of a rec center?I think if the idea gets talked about and debated the vote would be a large majority YES and we would finally be moving forward in this area.

I suggest we impose a tax on people who own second homes in the Crowsnest Pass and do not reside here on a permanent basis. Lets use the revenue from this to fund the operation of a new multiplex venture and in turn these people could be applauded for helping to maintain the long term viability of this community. Without an attractive recreational facility for small families this town will be known as the Geriatric Wing of Alberta in a few short years. Don't get me wrong - I do not mind the smell of A5 35 rub but retiring boomers are not going to keep this town above water at the status quo. The construction of a new facility would be instrumental in attracting new families and to ensure they do not move to other towns who have them.

That is not even a question, Mr.Ward, anyone would support a rec center without having another questionair go around. asking is plainly rediculous

Just looking for feedback, we should never assume, three people have already voted "No"

In this little negative neck of the woods, 3 people voting against something positive is a drop in the bucket.
