Expectations? Mine not a lot the report will find that according to the MGA council did nothing illegal. They will tell us that Council has put in place strategic plans, process and procedures. All those wonderful things that thrill and employ consultants and help feed the never ending bureaucracy we call government. The report may even mention that some of the things done here were very unpopular (again not illegal) they may even mention that council needs to look at some better approaches as far as communicating with the public. Then we will spend the next six weeks listening to everybody that has a interest picking apart the report to support their own positions.
What we all need to appreciate at this late point in this council's term this report is now a diversion.
The voters of this community really do have a simple choice ahead of them, if you support what this council as done then you need to vote for them or like minded individuals. If you do not support them then you need to look at the alternatives.
It is time now for the Crowsnest Pass to move forward, yes change is necessary but it needs to be change that the public supports and feels a part of.

Expectations?
There are quite a few illegalities and irregularities - the M7 will try to brush these off as mere technicalities that somehow slipped by their all-knowing excellence.
I'm wondering how this will be staged. Usually the M7 are up on a stage (dais) flanked by their flunkies with their laptops full of secret info. Himself's Worship appoints Himself Chairman and decrees the rules for the meeting in his introductory speech (with Himself's obligatory "stories" about Himself). It would be cool if they did it that way - we could see their faces during the presentation.
Or perhaps they will just have reserved front-row seats.
But, most importantly, will there be wine & cheese or just a box of Timbits?
Comes down to one thing Oct 21.
Personally I never did care about the Inspection this is exactly why we have elections in a democracy.
What ever the report says it will not erase the memories of the last three years. The people of the Crowsnest pass are not that gullible.
It really does not matter what the report says, we simply cannot afford to run our small community so top heavy. Our councilors did not do a good job with our tax dollars. October 21 can't come soon enough.
I believe that the Ratepayers association over the past year has educated the citizens about all of the issues that were decided upon and how they impacted upon us. Hopefully, these educated and knowing taxpayers will remember what this council has destroyed in this community and vote very seriously.
I asked Farmer about the cancellation of the sale of the slackpile ("River Run") lands.
As I understand it, they were legally required to auction them by March 31, 2013 unless they started a court action to recover the arrears. According to Bruce they asked the courts to "bundle" the titles of the 160(?) lots so they could sell them as a single package. Bruce expected a decision by March 31, 2013. He has gone silent on that. If the lands had sold at auction we would be getting some tax revenues.
And, BTW, what is the excuse for not dealing with the rusting equipment on the slackpile? I don't think being in tax arrears exempts you from the Community Standards bylaw.
River Run & Crowsnest Learning Centre were both issues that the current council inherited from former councils. (Factual) Court proceeding have limited what they could do on River Run. I believe they have tried to advance the interests of our community within the legal constraints they were dealt. CLC fate was decided before their term. Not sure anyone care about the facts in this community. The popular path is "Just Blame Council" - That is the CNP way.
They need to send the weed inspector over there as well!
12:02 the CLC and river run are two totally different issues the River Run was a private venture on private property. The CLC is a municipal owned facility on municipal owned property, they could have done what they are doing now three years ago. Instead they jacked around with bankrupt investors. Throwing a chunk of our money away to buy the Best Western for Group Vachon. The only reason they are doing the CLC site now is a desperate attempt to buy votes. You should be smart enough to understand that.

Those proceedings were a dispute between the owners and their creditors. It made no difference to CNP who ended up owning the properties. There was no need to wait for the proceedings to finish. The municipality deals with whoever is on title at the time.
Court proceedings are open to the public. We have a right to attend the court hearing where this "bundling" case is argued. But out "open and transparent" CNP wont even give us the Docket # so we could know where/when that is.
I hope RF will cast some light on this.
8:32 you are right they have had three years to clean this mess up. The Mayor stated in his last news letter that the demolition is a step forward and will only open up more opportunities. If he truly believed that why didn't he do it three years ago. Obviously if it wasn't for the election it would still be standing two years from now. Waiting for that Best Western.
This last $50,000 flushed down the drain only to make someone look good can not be logically explained. This $50,000 could have been used to fill a few potholes.
Anon 9:52, All these things were not as important than the new banners that are horrible, tearing organizations apart, and the BIGGIE, the entrance monument to his ego, What a waste of money and 3 horrible years. Thanks Brucy boy. Hope you will be on your way to Arizona SOON. Good riddance.
