They shuffled the chairs on the Titanic too, but it still went down... so too will all 'conservative' governments. They are a pox on our nation and a pox on the house that oil built.
But hey, what do I know?... I'm a Liberal. :-) Just being red in a sea of blue. :-) :-)

Its about time all people, Liberals and Conservatives alike, stop drawing lines in the sand. I think all ruling parties should "go down." Stop the fight, stop the labels and govern with some common bloody sense and modern ideas. Make decisions and have opinions based on the common good and not the bylaws to which members must adhere too. Once you say you are a Liberal or Conservative you basically admit you have no wiggle room to have a difference of opinion in that party. Do all Conservatives believe in god? Do all Liberals think we need to legalize weed? Not a chance. Every card carrier is a hypocrite and if you are not, can you actually be unbias and have tolerance? Along with the Conservatives I hope the Liberals stay down as well and drown in their own sea of red. Maybe then a Government will prevail that can actually achieve some good for the majority of Canadians.

WOW! I got no argument with what you said. In fact, you have expressed many of my sentiments. The truth of the matter is that only 3% of Canadians actually belong to a political party. That speaks volumes right there! Voter apathy is at an all-time high with, I believe, only 58% of voters’ actually voting last time around, during our federal election.

My personal belief is that we need proportional representation and a complete overhaul of our antiquated parliamentary system that was setup to deal with a 19th century world, when we are actually in the 21st century today, having technological and instantaneous communications undreamed of when we first setup this great country of ours. Unfortunately, nobody in position of power can/will do anything about it, so short of a revolution; we are stuck in the mud, so to speak.

In the meantime, under our present system and considering our limited options, I believe the Liberal/NDP legacy has given back to Canadians many times over, whereas the conservatives are regressive, and only take for them and their friends. Therefore, my somewhat partisan remarks above were meant to convey, that given the choices, anybody but conservative. Although, like you, I too wish we had better options and choices to choose from. But today's sad reality is that we do not!
