I just wonder if the goings on are any different than they have been for the last 30 years. I don't really think so. Not much you can do. Different people can get in and it will be still their relatives and friends getting "desirable" positions. For the life of me I cannot see it being any different here, no matter who is in office.

Kudos to Sasha for volunteering to be on the Rum Runner Days Committee. I tip my hat to anyone who volunteers their time for anything around here, or anywhere for that matter. I hope she is able to work things out. According to Sasha’s blog, she was the only one to apply for this committee. Why were there no others, specifically some of the business owners? Are they not the ones who benefit most financially? I don’t see how anyone can complain about who is on this committee. Everyone had an opportunity to apply. Now, had there been a bunch of people apply and turned down in favour of who’s there now, then there might be cause for complaints.

Regarding the comment at 2:39 ... I don't think being on the Rum Runner Days Committee is really a "desirable" position. Do they get paid? If so, how much?

Desirable being the operative word. I think it means that no matter what is going on, it is always relatives and friends involved.

This lack of volunteers tells us a lot about what the “silent” majority really thinks.

Anonymous at 12:16,

In this case, every resident of CNP had the opportunity to apply to be on the committee. Only one person out of 6,000 residents applied? Something is wrong with this picture. If it takes "friends" and "relatives" to sit on this committee, so be it. We all had the chance.

Anonymous at 12:51,

Well said. I'm beginning to think that the "silent majority" is speaking loud and clear over this and other issues in CNP.

Yes, and get moved around continually. Didn't sound like an ego boosting trip. I would not like it.
