Hillcrest Miners Playground

Just took these comments of a friends site on Facebook, a very good cause to support.

So families with young children I am putting out a thought to you all...our Hillcrest Miners Playground sustained damages during the flood allowing it to be just locked up, we need all of you and that is ALL of you to begin the process of a written, emailed and/or complaints to the Municipality with concerns to this! The playground is for our youth to use and it definitely will not be able to be used if NOT FIXED!!!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let them not how you feel we can work together to clean up our playground but we need your support.
HILLCREST MINES COMMUNITY SOCIETY and the young families of the community can make a difference!!

Note: Cost of administration $4325 per day

What needs to be done to fix it, just some clean up, or does it need major equipment repairs? Or both?

Lots of important things to get fixed; i.e. water lines that are broken.

Is there a contact number for anyone?

Water lines in a park?

No water lines broken in actual residential areas are still being fixed after the flood. Probably priority I would think.

You seem someone "in the know," any estimation on when they will get to the park?

No, I just know that there are a bunch of water breaks in Coleman, and some in Blairmore. Probably other places also.

No waterline breaks due to flood. Work is being done to get park cleaned up. A little bit of patience folks.

I've heard several times from different people, that there is a shortage of staff in the public works department. Could this be a rumour?

I think that is a famous rumor. During the last couple of weeks I have had occasion to call them a few times. They showed up at my house within an hour. All problems are now fixed, and they were awesome. Thank you public works.

It appears the squeaky wheel gets the grease lately.

This news just in, as posted on Facebook:

Shannon Hamilton Schlender says:

Fantastic news the park is temporarily fixed so our kids have a place to meet and play at again, So now there is no need for a Rally Sunday, RALLY is cancelled … Thank you all again who called and emailed and had words of support. Thanks to the town for hearing the people and getting the job done!!

Sorry folks we would have got to this a lot sooner. But when you have more administrators than you do public works operators it ain't easy. My apologies again

I disgruntled municipal employee

Thanks again for your patience
