The Mayor found the time to describe his feeling about the local newspapers I have had responses from people stating that he is 100% right to that's BS and everything in between. I would like to get a sense of how many readers feel about the Mayor's attempt to communicate with the public every month. Go over to the new poll on the right and take a moment to express your opinion of the Mayors Newsletter.
Turn up the volume and check this out:

If you can't hear it, it sounds like "We have two newspapers and they put out a lot of crap"

Just wanted to say after I read the Promoter editorial today the Mayor appears to be partially right.
He is also right about what the Herald put out before the last election (they have changed their tune a bit recently).
After reading this editorial in the Promoter today I when back over the last 3 to four months and read all the editorials it's almost like they were written by a different person.
Maybe there was some direction from up above at sun media to change the tone towards this Mayor, council and administration.
I do hope that the Promoter finds the gonads to go back to writing the real stories of this community, being a reflection of the mood, the hearts and souls of the people they write for and who buy the paper.
Not some piece of garbage that attacks people who greatest crime is exercising their free speech. Imagine the day a newspaper editor decides what can and can't be written or said in another form of media. Stalin, Lenin and Castro would have been proud.

This editor should write an editorial about the Mayor using the municipal newsletter for his own political grand standing.
Boy talk about the kettle calling the pot black. I for one agree at times the papers do put out crap. But after reading the Mayors corner for a year this guy needs to clean up his own back yard before condemning somebody else.

We have on good authority the Mayor threatened to sue the Promoter. He has been calling the publisher complaining and threatening. He does not realize that he only a nuisance to the Sun Media and Quebecor. If they thought this is important market, they would let him sue and this would sell more papers. But this is not an important market, so the Sun Media does not want to invest any energy to support their editor in Blaimore. But if the Mayor wants to push more, they will eventually come around and do the right thing. Thank goodness for the bloggers or the locals would be dependent on the Mayor's corner.
It's too bad they are spending tax dollars on PR consultant at the same time as they seem to abuse the press. What kind of advice they are getting? Seems like a waste of taxpayers money.
Now Bruce, it is time to go and sit in your own special little corner.
