Update on Fire situation Crowsnest Pass

I am told that 18 of 19 in Coleman have walked out tonight.
Hillcrest and Bellevue will walk midnight tomorrow if Fire Chief is not reinstated, letter of discipline removed and a letter of apology put in place.
Would appreciate anybody confirming either way.

You must be mistaken!! “his worship” has assured us we are safe! They told CTV only 8-10 firemen quit and some have already gone back .
We should stop listening to rumours like a bunch of gophers and listen only to them. Or go to the counselor’s blogs, oh wait, they do not communicate with us gophers any more.

So does Council cave? What is the plan if you have "no" firemen?

Once the firemen are dealt with who's next?

Fire services discontent Press release out this morning.Check out the CNP website.
Wow these guys are really out of touch. It looks like they are going to dig in their heels and fight instead of working with the volunteers. Now it looks like it will start costing the taxpayers some money.

Who's running the asylum, the elected Council or volunteer firemen? Time for some firemen to grow up.

Ok so now Admin are calling the Firefighters unprofessional. Really, who was it that punted a 34 year local volunteer

08:07:00, - very good question. It is high time for council as a whole to face the question of who is running this asylum.

It's time these people realize that this municipality yes must have an elected government but you can not expect the people here to lay down and accept every thing that these people do. Just because they are the government, these guys talk about leadership but they can't go to the bathroom without having a consultant report prepared on how, when, why and if they should do it.

Does this mean you're willing to step up and volunteer for the fire department since "some firemen (won't) grow up?"

My guess is you'll sit behind your computer thinking your better than people who actually get out from behind the screen an VOLUNTEER.

Its people like you that are ruining this community, nothing but hypocrites.

The ratepayers will be having a show of peaceful protest in front of the minicipal office today @ 2pm. Anyone with concerns about council, mayor, admin...please show up in support.

To any media people reading this, there are six councillors who have an equal vote to the mayor. So give them equal time, if you can find any of them willing to talk.

In most places you would have opposition or independent councillors, MLAs or MPs who would be eager to comment on the performance of the government.

The firemen are meeting with the Ratepayers executive at 7:00 pm in Bellevue tonight. If they do decide to turn in their pagers at this meeting, they will then go to the Municipal Town Office in Coleman, to do so.

Mayor and council have agreed to a meeting with the executive of the RatePayers Association. This meeting will take place next Tuesday October 9th at 2:00 p.m. A gathering of concerned CNP citizens will gather outside, while this meeting takes place. More details to follow.
