Mayor's Rally packing them in.

Unfortunately I was unable to attend the Mayor's wiener roast tonight at the Firemen's park. Anybody that had the chance to attend let us in the minority know how it went.
Wow this is getting ridiculous, maybe June 18we can have cheer leaders at the council chambers, hand out noise makers for when somebody makes a motion.

1,2,3,4 who do we adore?

Here is the email that was floating around thanks to my readers I have now received this four times please don't send any more:

I am confused. I didn't hear about any wiener roast....was this a public event??? If so, where was it announced/advertised? Is there a council meeting tomorrow night? The Municipal website says the next one is on June 18th?

Anonymous said...

Ahhh...I see u updated your post to make the council meeting June 18th. Whew, you had me going there!

I think cheerleaders in council chambers would be a nice touch....and it would get the youth involved! I don't think Bruce would ever go for the noisemakers though.

Wrong Dean! The BBQ was put on by a group of caring individuals in our community who wish to welcome and support new families. These individuals choose to Live out Loud and promote how fortunate we are to live here. The individuals who planned this event are pleasant people who don't spend their day meeting with individuals to gather pessimistic and negative news to put up on their blog -

Dean, that is just “silly.” I prefer the old chant 2,4, 6, 8 who do we appreciate? Does that make me a “CAVER?”
I think the wiener roast was great idea. I do not think it matters who one supports, what matters is: people are finally showing who and what they support. I have heard so many people say, they will not speak up for fear of the repercussions to their families or businesses. That is alarming!
This picnic should bring some clarification, for those of us who were still struggling with the math part of the “Silent Majority” Good for them for showing who and what they support!

Anonymous said...

Did the taxpayers pay for the wienies? The only event I would go to, is if this wienie was going to announce that he was resigning.

Anonymous said...

So, I am assuming the wiener roast was a private affair?

Anonymous said...

5:19 Can you or anyone please post the invitation? Just for clarification. The one I saw clearly stated, this BBQ was to show support and appreciation for the hard work Council and Administration are doing.

Anonymous said...

You wouldnt have fit in Dean, it was only for positive people.

Crowsnest Pass Home said...

Thanks for that 9:39, so what kind of turn out did you have for this non-political celebration? to welcome new families to the community?

Anonymous said...

This council has just enough support to make them think they are doing well. No point in saying "the emperor has no clothes" when the entire court is naked.

Anonymous said...

Lets keep in mind this was not about politics. It was about welcoming new families to the community. In a "positive way"

What we have seen over the last three years is the building of an empire. One build a huge bureaucracy that holds its allegiance to the head of the board. Two tell all your groups they have not been running the community correctly forever. Three change everything possible at the same time eliminating the possibility for the next leadership to undo what you have done.
Lastly hold pep rallies to convince your followers that everybody is happy.
What a recipe. Will we be foolish enough to fall for this insanity again? I sure hope not.

Dean give your head a shake. You have already been told this had nothing to do with politics. It was a great barbecue with great people welcoming new people to the Pass. We have a right to get together once in a while. This is not the first time a while back a large group of us ladies got together in Coleman to welcome the wives of new families to our community. Great events.

So much for a welcome for new families have the gonads to say it was a political rally. Personally I could care less if you want to have rallies but don't try to sell me this welcome families crap.
If my memory serves me right isn't this the same group that got together a few months prior to the last election at the Blairmore Lions Hall.
Sounds like they prepared for power, got power and now don't want to lose it.

Anon 10:50 AM. To "S"; perhaps the email should have mentioned the "welcoming of new friends" first, rather than outright saying that the gathering is TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR COUNCIL, ADMINISTRATION, FIRE AND OTHER LEADERS OF THE CROWSNEST PASS". This was nothing but a political rally. Good for the group and I hope it was well attended but if all of the preceding people showed up (with such a large admin, etc) the attendance should have been good. Lots of back slapping and high fiving.

By the looks of it, this has everything to do with politics, who are you kidding? Otherwise it would have been announced without reference to the Politicians. Guess this is another paid PR Consultant recommendation? Or a Pre election rally by Sheriff Hoss and the boys?

Otherwise, if it is the Ladies just getting together, then say so. Kuddos for your community spirit and attempt to bring back the good old times. We need it.

To any of the people that went to this event and are supporters of this council can you please inform us all of the positive things that this council has done. Please provide us all with a list of positives. We complain a lot on these blogs and can provide a list of negatives, but I do like the idea of being positive. Please provide a list so that I too can be more positive about what this council has done.

1:42 Nothing in the shootin the breeze ad about Mayor Council and administration. It was a political rally.

Anonymous said...

A little back slapping will not hurt anyone, a little pep rally to get the troops motivated for October. Nothing wrong with this.

Anonymous said...

Just trying to do some figuring out on the number of people at the Mayor/Council rally?

Council + spouses 14
Admin + spouses 24

Friends of above 76

Total 114

Sometimes women can be the most gullible. Getting a bunch of new comers together who have no idea how this present administration has brought this community down is downright disgusting. I hope these new comers are smart enough to see through this brainwashing event.

Anonymous said...

I guess you don't know the good heart and intentions of these 2 woman.

Anonymous said...

Dean,
Wondering what good service your readers are doing in the community or do they just all sit about in front of their computers and bitch.

Anonymous said...

Sometimes men can be the most gullible too, bit of a sexist comment 4:08 maybe you can explain yourself better.
I have seen just has many men fooled by these guys.
I did not have a problem with these ladies holding a political rally. What I had a problem with, was them trying to sell it has something else. No where in the shootin the breeze advertising did they mention the true intent of this "get together". If it wasn't for the email they would still be arguing that it was a welcome for newcomers.

Once gullible man who is not gullible any more.

Way to go 4:17 I have been waiting all day for somebody to address these horrible whiners. Dean you and your loser friends and readers, people that keep making all these stupid comments can keep complaining all you like.
I for one am glad Saje is not running; "Remember the old saying a chain is only as strong as your weakest link" he will be easily replaced. Does not matter we have control of six votes where it counts. (In the council chambers)
Get use to the changes there are a whole lot more coming in the next four years.

Misty Schitz

Anonymous said...

Misty, the key will not be the six votes you have now, but come October, who votes for who. First you eat your own, and second you count your chickens before they hatch. We will see who is whining after the election. Us again, or you and your minions.

Anonymous said...

Misty, we have missed you. Thank goodness you are safe. How was Europe?

Anonymous said...

The email proves it was political. If everyone can not at least admit that then you have a problem. I would love to see the fab 4 get elected and 2 current councillors and the Mare(just kidding of course). Should be an interesting 4 months. Let the games begin!!

A little off topic, but I just have to post it. Driving home, I spied another "only in the Crowsnest Pass" moment. There is a guy riding his horse, alongside the road. This in itself is not really noteworthy. But, his get-up was. Full buckskins with the fringes a swayin' in the breeze. Just like right off a good ole western novel cover. I had a good chuckle.

By the way....Welcome back Misty, I have missed you also. We need someone to keep us scumbag, loser, whiners in line!

"It's a beautiful day in the Neigbourhood....."

Anonymous said...

I'll give 'em a "wave of positive support",.......when they decide to leave town!

(Nasty, I know, but....Misty brings out the best in me!)

Anonymous said...

To anon4:13 LOL LOL LOL.

Anonymous said...

Misty;

It is possible that Saje does not want to be part of your so called 'chain'. It is also possible that a report Saje gave to the Russell Farmer group may be part of what eventually causes the ship to turn over, allowing the scum to come to the top. Only time will tell so we will just have to wait and see. All unless you know something that we don't.

Re, 04:17:00 PM

Some of these readers may have done some very good service in the community and due to 'strategic plans' and 'policy', may now have plenty of time to sit about in front of their computers and bitch.

Holding a private event "to show support for Council, Administration, Fire and other leaders of Crowsnest Pass" by invitation with RSVP and calling it a "community BBQ" certainly shows "who and what" they are.

This is their way of "speaking up"?

And who are these "other leaders of Crowsnest Pass" - is that the same as Misty's "people who matter"?

So how were the "new people" supposed to know about this? There was no public advertisement. Unless "Crowsnest Community Connections" has a list of their emails to invite them. Where would CCC get that list?

Anonymous said...

Anon 08:49 PM If the Mayor has a Watch Llist, he has a new utility list, tax role, and remember wanted or had a meeting with the newcomers to recruit supporters. CCC is but a political group run by the Mayor. If so, why not say so. The Machine is ramping up for October. Wonder who the Mayor will hand pick for his replacement, unless his house building in Arizona is behind schedule, or he "has unfinished work to complete".

Anonymous said...

To anon 10;50 your statement (you have already been told this had nothing to do with politics), says it all. We are supposed to believe what we are told, and don't think for yourself even if the obvious stares you right in the face. Please new people be aware of the wolves in sheep clothing. Like the wolves they are, they will entice you to join them, only to drag you down to their decieving level.

Anonymous said...

My family and I never got invited to a BBQ to welcome us to the Pass when we moved there a few years ago. boohoo! ;)

Anonymous said...

Anon 10:13

I'm with you, we were never invited to one, either. Of course that didn't stop us from partaking in all the wonderful activities that circulate in this community, (so many, that we had to take a rest and skip some every once in a while.) I also have to say, I have never felt unwelcome here. Too busy. Too much to embrace, and enjoy in this place.

Anonymous said...

I see a difference. Does anyone else see a difference???!

Anonymous said...

I wonder how many out of those three hundred would have shown up if they knew it was a political rally? Just spoke to a lady down town who honestly felt it was a barbecue to welcome new people to town.
She felt embarrassed but will not be fooled again

Anonymous said...

You know, this is just the kind of thing that really annoys me about this mayor and council. Kinda slippery is my deduction. I voted for them, I feel a little bit like Eve must have felt.

Anonymous said...

This picnic was probably suggested by the Public Relations and Crisis Communication consultant who charges few hundred bucks per silly hour. These people drip with false sincerity, or is there such a thing as false sincerity? We can expect more from the Crisis Communications Circus because these people are in crisis.

Anonymous said...

Crisis Communications Circus I love that.

Anonymous said...

Read the Mayor’s, what APPEARS like, a doctored letter to the editor. Very well done! It is obvious to everyone in the Crowsnest Pass this is the most transparent administration in recent history. What is all the complaining about? There was an announcement in Shooting the Breeze. They don’t have any communication or administration crisis, honest, just ask them.

Anonymous said...

I just read the letter. I like the part about "sharing of information," and "participate in the decisions that we need to make as a municipality." Yeah, citizen input is welcome....but only if you agree with them, and have it okay'd by ????? beforehand. Otherwise, we are all whiners, complainers, and uninformed ramblers. 6:24, do I detect a note of sarcasm there?!

Anonymous said...

Too funny. I attended. All the conspiracy theories here want me to put my tinfoil hat on. It was a simple BBQ. Get over it. the Ratepayers could have a BBQ too - of they like, but then it would not likely cause as much controversy.
