Crowsnest Pass Promoter

The crowsnest pass promoter will be done this coming week. Never good news to see a community lose a business. Feel bad for Joni who has done an excellent job over the years.

Quebecor knows they are not welcome here:

"We have on good authority the Mayor threatened to sue the Promoter. He has been calling the publisher complaining and threatening. He does not realize that he only a nuisance to the Sun Media and Quebecor. If they thought this is important market, they would let him sue and this would sell more papers. But this is not an important market, so the Sun Media does not want to invest any energy to support their editor in Blaimore. But if the Mayor wants to push more, they will eventually come around and do the right thing."

A MAYOR have lot of Power that most of us don't relise.
He is the first one to know what the provincial Gov. have in store for us and prepare his soldiers accordingly.
A MAYOR have twice that power he will lies, cheat to get what he want
he have the power to get you arrested if you don't comply.
Did you know this?
Not Democratic POWER B.S. POWER.

Don't be silly. It was even amazing that a small town had two newspapers to begin with. And sadly, like it or not, the way of news is digital. Newspapers have been falling all over. Nothing to do with the mayor, sorry. Very silly.

He has Voodoo powers to conjure up hotels, mines and manufacturers. Exorcising a newspaper should be easy.

Yes, I know, he had nothing to do with it, just as he had nothing to do with Riversdale or the manufacturer.

Wow! Are people really not seeing what is happening here?

7:56 is absolutely right. You should read the new By-laws. The last one reads like this FAIL TO FOLLOW ORDER $250.00 fine. This is tyranny at it's finest. You better do as you are told or else. Sad to see the Promoter shut down. We have lost a voice that was badly needed in these dire times with an administration that Hitler would be proud of.

The Mayor did not close the Promoter, but he did call Joni's publishers with baseless complaints and threats. Promoter has not been making money and Sun Media is leaving unprofitable markets, we are only one of these.

The Mayor has made an ass and nuisance of himself with his complaints nonetheless. He should not be too happy with the paper shutting down because our opinion of this council will not improve.

Imagine a council in a small community like ours cutting $100,000 from senior housing and then paying $50,000 to. Private Consultant to keep a hotel application alive.

That’s ridiculous! They are all arrogant, but to suggest they have shut down one news paper and made sure the other one is in a conflict of interest right before election? Next thing you will try to convince people of is: they hire their friends to shoot gophers, are going to shut down Thunder in the Valley and take our neighbors property. Such silliness.

It is what it is... We can't change what has happened.

We still have so many assets here.

There is a imminent election!
