Hopefully there is a signed version of this contract, otherwise the entire Public Relations Campaign surrounding the announcement was pretty goofy and waste of Taxpayers’ money. Perhaps there will be a more elaborate announcement next month? Like with the mine announcement, someone wants to get a bit too far ahead of the story “Much ado about nothing.”
Looks like Emile got it wrong about off site levies.Thats Ok everybody makes mistakes. So by the end of April we will know the hotel.I can live with that. The mare was yapping about this hotel deal being done back around July of last year.So the contract was written up then but could not be completed for which reason? Financing? No hotel? What has changed since then? Were they just desparate for good news?My gut tells me this will not happen and council will extend the deadline right through to the next election. I hope I am wrong.
Anyone knows the cost of 80+ revisions by a "top Edmonton law firm?" Right now it looks like a well written contract that is not going anywhere. The Mayor says in his corner that he is off to Vancouver to speak to what are likely more Consultants. Also, someone should inform the poor fella Devon has its own PR department and they don't like to be manipulated by other people's PR games.
