Great News for the Pass we are getting a new hotel

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Best Canadian Motor Inns (BCMInns) has announced plans to reopen its location in Blairmore.
BLAIRMORE, ALBERTA. Re-construction of the brand new Best Canadian Motor Inns hotel is now underway. The facility will include 49 completely renovated modern rooms, fitness room, laundry facilities, meeting rooms, deluxe breakfast area, business center, and coffee house.
“Our boldly re-designed interior and exterior will be an attractive and welcome addition to the Crowsnest Pass community,” said Scott Germain, Vice President of BCMI.
“We added square footage but maintained the number of rooms so we could increase the amount of individual guest space. We feel a focus on quality is what will help make this property an attraction in the CNP.”
“As part of our commitment to quality and the guest experience, we’ve made significant changes to our accommodations, including a variety of room styles; from kitchens and two room family suites, to an over the top luxury Jacuzzi suite. Our room selection will be unparalleled in the Crowsnest,” Germain said.
After experiencing a fire in November 2011, the remains of the building on 21st Avenue in Blairmore have sat vacant pending the completion of detailed renovation plans. The extensive upgrade plans are now complete and the reconstruction is underway.
“We are a proud member of the Crowsnest Pass and it was very important to us that this project be undertaken with primarily local contractors. BCMI has been part of the Crowsnest Pass community for over 20 years and Blairmore is an important part of the BCMI family. We felt we had the opportunity to do something special here and wanted to make sure we did it right. We are very excited to be back.” said Mr. Germain.
The project will be managed by the local branch of Belfor Property Restoration. The facility is expected to be completed and open to the public in late 2013.

This is good news for the Crowsnest Pass. How long before the magnificent seven take credit for this?

Saw the drawings, very well done. Also, these were not conceptual drawings.

I like the look of it too. Better than what was there before, this one looks like it fits better in a mountain community. I'll be excited to see the action going on in the coming months.

They can't very well take credit, since if they had their Fire Prevention system a bit sooner, we'd still have the old BCMI.

There is also Darkhorse Electric opening in the Blairmore Precision location. Almost as many jobs as the Quebec foam factory. Does Darkhorse get a Gala?

They should! Welcome Darkhorse!

Are you saying that the present fire department would have saved that hotel? These guys haven't even put out a fire as yet. The house in Coleman is standing gutted as testament to their expertise. How dare you! The old BCMI would have been a pile of ashes left to smoulder if they had been in charge. Get your facts straight.

Well it was found out that their training was lacking - if it quacks it is a duck.

Anon.09:41 was making a joke, one hopes.

No, I was just thinking, how could they try to take credit? It only happened because of the fire. They can't very well take credit for the fire.
:>)
They could claim that their new, improved fire prevention inspection standards would have prevented the fire starting. But then we would still have the old BCMI.

I am not 9:41, but I believe that 9:41 was being sarcastic.

I'm not sure, but don't we have 2 burned out houses in Coleman?

Here we go again. It is obvious the the nexus for the present political discourse in the Crowsnest Pass is and will remain the dismantling of the old Fire Departments. This will remain until the present new oversized expensive structure is revamped into what is really needed for a Fire Department in the Crowsnest Pass.

I think the title of this post is bit misleading. "new"??

Hey, the latest PR consultant they hired conviced the council that the destruction of the fire department will become a non issue once the put together a better story as to why they did it. They are putting it together with the best PR advice our tax dollars can buy.

Interesting architecture. I am trying to imagine it after a big dump of snow. That usually comes with an east wind, so it drifts on the west side.
Well, I'm sure the architects have planned for that.

Looks very nice, welcome back BCMI.

Yes, pretty sure the "trained" architects have figured it out. Man.
