Sentinel Bridge, Crowsnest Pass

I just read this week that the Municipality is anticipating the replacement of the Sentinel bridge with the funding of $1.2 million from the province.

If that funding was coming from STIP  Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program, they are going to be very disappointed with the following quote from today's Edmonton Journal

"Since April 2011, the program has funded construction and repair of local bridges, community airports, resource roads and local municipal initiatives like the City Special Transport Grants.
In 2011-12, the province spent $88 million on the program, in 2012-13, the government spent roughly $119 million. In the 2013-14 fiscal year, funding drops to zero."

Funding will be in place "before the snow flies".

Judging just on past performance through their last mandate, why was a consultant, familiar with the STIP Program, not in place in order to guide them through their follies?

Hey, it's supposed to snow tomorrow. Actually, I'm seeing some flakes coming down right now. That was fast!

Unfortunately we do not control what the provincial government does.

This was not intended to be an attack on anybody. I read this week that the bridge is going into Sentinel this summer. The article from the Edmonton Journal leads to a lot of questions about if this project will precede.
The only thing I remember our Mayor saying about the budget was he did not feel it would have much of an impact on the Pass.
In conjunction with this I do not expect to be seeing anything happening with Highway 3 soon.

I agree, I think Highway 3 is so far off the radar, it's not even worth thinking about! What will be, will be!

"I agree, I think Highway 3 is so far off the radar, it's not even worth thinking about!'

When you're driving, think about our CPO's radar.

☹ ☹ ☹ ☹ ☹

Thanks 9:02, I will! (I'd almost forgotten what a "police state" we are living in!)

Highway 3, Highway 3,
Oh, it's not the place for me,

To forget my speed for then,
If I do that's surely when,

The CPO's will signal me,
and slap me with a great big fee.

I'm not rich, and so you see,
That would really bother me!

(Too bad Stompin' Tom is gone, he probably could have done a better job.)
